The animals, Tiki and Taggart (4 year old Border Collie Mix) were accepted for transport in accordance with Delta’s live animal acceptance policies and procedures at 7:07AM on October 13, 2010. Flight 069 from Copenhagen, Denmark had a scheduled departure time of 11:15AM and it left the gate at 11:15AM. The flight arrived early into ATL at 3:17PM. Upon arrival, Tiki was found deceased in her kennel which was in the bulk bin. She was taken to the Atlanta cargo facility for handling. Taggart was doing well and proceeded to Buffalo, NY; final destination. Cause of the Incident: A necropsy was offered to the owner at Delta’s expense. The owner stated that Tiki was 12 years old and had medical problems which required medication and for this reason did not want a necropsy performed. He requested that we close the case.
