Description of Incident: (3) three pet cats were accepted for transport in Los Angeles, CA (LAX) on direct flight to Raleigh, NC (RDU). ‘Blacky’ 10 years old, ‘Iggy’ 10 years old, and ‘George’ 20 years old. The cats were accepted in apparent good health with all documentation present. All three were boarded on the flight from LAX with no irregularities reported. Upon arrival and offload in RDU (1) one of the three cats ‘George’, was noticed unresponsive. Local Delta staff in RDU made immediate contact with the owner.

Cause of Incident: The pet owner elected to take George without medical evaluation to determine cause of death.

Corrective Action Taken: No corrective action taken.
