February 2016 Airline Pet Travel Report
The February, 2016 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of December, 2015.
American Airlines
The first report of the death of a snake happened on a flight to San Francisco, CA. The customer opened the cardboard box that the snake was transported in and found the snake deceased. No damaged was noted to the inner container. A veterinarian was not contacted since the customer decided to take the snake home.
Delta
A Belgan Malinois arrived in Ontario, CA from Palm Beach, FL and was found to be responding poorly. The animal was immediately transported to veterinary services for evaluation. The necropsy results did not identify a specific
cause of death.
Before loading in Portland, OR a cat was found to have injured its paw trying to escape its kennel. The cat was taken to the vet and had the paw bandaged and given permission to continue travel where it was transported and delivered without further issue.
United Airlines
A two month-old Bulldog arrived in Fort Lauderdale, FL from Sacramento, CA deceased. Necropsy results confirmed a bacterial upper respiratory infection.
