United Airlines
Filed under ExpressJets, but flying for United Airlines a three month-old Chihuahua was found deceased upon arrival after there was a delay in the departing city. No additional information was provided.
A Rhodesian Ridgeback named Princess escaped her kennel on a flight to Houston, TX. She was immediately and safely recovered and returned to her shipping container but sustained a minor injury to her toe nail. The report noted that use of releasable kennel ties may have contributed to the animals ability to escape from its shipping container.
A Yorkshire Terrier named Diamond arrived deceased in Phoenix, AZ from Houston, TX. The necropsy was inconclusive, but identified cardiac arteriosclerosis as a contributing factor.
A 14 month-old Labrador Retriever named Milo arrived in Los Angeles, CA from Newark, NJ with swelling to the left eye. Veterinarian inspection concluded possible trauma to the eye. Source of trauma was unknown and undetermined. No additional information was provided.
An 11 week-old Maltese was injured when the agent attempted to modify the kennel prior to the flight to secure kennel ties. The dog was treated and continued on its journey. The report noted that proper procedures would be reviewed with the agent.
An eight year-old Shih Tzu named Bella was discovered to have injury its left front toe nails shortly before departure of the scheduled flight. Bella was treated and continued it her trip.
