United Airlines
United reports the death of a 9 year-old American-Shorthair cat named Hope. The owner declined a medical examination. No corrective action was taken on the part of the airline. A Mastiff named Shyla was injured during unloading when the kennel fell approximately two feet to the ground. United stated that they reviewed standard operating procedure with ramp personnel to prevent recurrence.
Two Geckos were discovered deceased upon arrival in Raleigh, NC. No cause of death was listed and no medical exam was performed. This is the first incident of Geckos being reported lost, injured or deceased since reporting began.
A dog named Libby injured herself by digging in the kennel during transport. No corrective action was taken as the injury was self-inflected.
